Authorities say a 10-year-old boy is recovering in a Rochester hospital after he became trapped when the snow pile he was playing on collapsed.
Police in the suburban town of Greece tell local media that the boy and a friend were making snow forts at an apartment complex Wednesday when a pile collapsed, sending him head-first into the snow.
When he couldn't free himself, several children had to help pull him out while another child ran for help. Emergency crews took the boy to a hospital, and he was later transferred to the pediatric unit at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Officials say his injuries aren't considered life-threatening.
