10th Mountain Division soldier dies in Afghanistan

A 10th Mountain Division soldier has died in the line of duty.

Private First Class Joshua Gray died in Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan on February 10 from a non-combat related incident.

The 21-year-old was from Van Lear, Kentucky. He was a satellite communications system operator maintainer.

Gray joined the Army in November 2012. After completing training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina he was assigned to Fort Gordon, Georgia and Fort Benning, Georgia. Gray arrived at Fort Drum in October 2013.

He deployed with his unit to Afghanistan last month.

Gray's awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the NATO Medal, the Overseas Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, and the Expert Marksmanship Badge.

He is survived by his mother and father.
