10th Mountain Division soldier will receive Medal of Honor on Tuesday

Captain William Swenson, who served with the 10th Mountain Division in Kumar Province, Afghanistan, will receive the Medal of Honor at a White House ceremony this week

A soldier who saved a fellow-soldier's life during a firefight in Afghanistan will be honored with the Medal of Honor this coming week.

Captain William Swenson is now retired, and living in Seattle, Washington. In September, 2009 he was an embedded trainer with the Afghan Border Police Mentor Team, 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team of the 10th Mountain Division. He was in Kumar Province on September 8th, when the incident he's being honored for, occurred.
