A 12-year-old Syracuse student is facing charges in an attack at Lincoln Middle School.
Syracuse Police say she used a pen in the attack. Syracuse City School spokesperson Michael Henesey says the girl attacked a teacher who was acting in place of the school principal. The attacked resulted in minor abrasions on the teacher's stomach and wrist.
This morning a teacher, acting in place of the school principal at Lincoln Middle School in his absence, was injured by a student with an ink pen resulting in minor abrasions on the teachers?? stomach and wrist areas.
"The safety and security of our students and staff is of the highest priority and this type of behavior is completely unacceptable," the district said in a statement. "The Syracuse Police Department was contacted immediately. The student is being disciplined per the guidelines set forth in the district??s Code of Conduct."
The girl is charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
The case is being handled in Family Court.
