A 15-year-old was arrested after reports of â??shots firedâ?? in the area of Syracuseâ??s Lincoln Park.
Syracuse Police say they responded to the Lincoln Park area around 7:25 p.m. Thursday night after 911 received a complaint about possible â??shots firedâ?? in the park.
Police say responding officers arrived in the area and saw a man running from the park carrying what appeared to be a long gun.
After a short chase, the suspect was taken into custody on the 800 block of Burnet Ave.
Police say the suspect discarded the rifle while fleeing from police, but officers found the discarded Marlin rifle on the 200 block of Mather Street.
Police identified the suspect as a 15-year-old male who lives on the west side of Syracuse.
The teen was charged with the misdemeanors of reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon. He was lodged at the Hillbrook Detention Facility and is scheduled to appear in Family Court at a later date.
Police are not releasing his name due to his age. Nobody was injured during the incident.
