174th Attack Wing halts search for debris from crashed drone

The 174th Attack Wing has suspended their ground search for debris from the MQ-9 Reaper drone that crashed into Lake Ontario on November 12.

Members of the 174th have been searching the shore for remnants of the drone since the crash. If anyone finds possible debris from the drone on the shore, call the Emergency Operations Center at 315-233-2257 or 2258.

The debris will not be hazardous, but the public is asked to handle it with caution.

Earlier this week, U.S. Navy divers from the Fleet Forces Commander based in Virginia arrived to start searching in the lake for more wreckage.

The Air Force Accident Investigation Board is still looking into the crash.
