Syracuse Police are waiting for the exact cause of death, but they say an 18 year old is the city's latest homicide victim.

The teen was out bike riding with other young men, on South State Street, near Burt Street, about 3am Sunday morning, when investigators say shots were fired from a vehicle and he fell from the bicycle and hit the ground. He was found to have gunshot wounds and was transported to Upstte University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. At this point the exact cause of death is undetermined.

There is an active crime investigation in the 12-hundred block of South State Street and detectives gather evidence and talk to witnesses who were riding with the victim. It's believed the shots came from a vehicle (no description so far). The teen's family is being notified.
