2 teens charged in fatal shooting of upstate New York man
MECHANICVILLE , NY (WRGB)-- Mechanicville Police say 2 men have been arrested in connection to a shooting death on Grove St.
Police said Tuesday that David Feliciano, 19, was the man who was killed Monday night.
Mechanicville Police Chief Joseph Waldron said that a neighbor called 911 on Monday night reporting gunshots. When officers arrived, the Chief said they found Feliciano shot in a driveway near 44 Grove Street. Police said he died from his injuries.
"We do not have a suspect but we are following several leads," said Chief Waldron.
He said that investigators from a number of departments, including the State Police, are working on the case. He also asked that anyone who may have some information, or video, call police.
"If you have something, surveillance video on your house, we would love to hear from you," said Chief Waldron.
Police said that Feliciano grew up in Clifton Park, but recently moved to Mechanicville. Friends and classmates told CBS6 News that he attended Shenendehowa High School. They said he was a caring, funny person who put others in a good mood.
The Police Chief said that shootings in the city are rare. He said the last homicide was 20 years ago.
"Obviously it's unnerving in a community of this size but rest assured knowing we are doing everything we can and we are bringing everything to bear to get this case solved," he said.
