2-year-old girl not hurt when gunshot pierces through ceiling of apartment

A 2-year-old girl was not hurt when a gunshot came through the ceiling of her family's apartment in Syracuse.

It happened around 1:20 p.m. Tuesday at 202 Cayuga Street.

A 39-year-old man told police he was sitting in his downstairs apartment with his daughter when the shot rang out. Police found four people in the upstairs apartment along with a shotgun and two handguns.

19-year-old Justin Ufares, 18-year-old Bay Rosario and 18-year-old Charles Jennings were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon. Ufares was also charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of marijuana. They were all taken to the Justice Center and are scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning in Syracuse City Court. A fourth person in the apartment was not arrested.

No one was hurt in the incident.
