"This year's Conde Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards show that avid travelers are choosing Upstate New York as a top destination to stay and vacation," said Governor Andrew Cuomo in a press release. "This recognition of the world-class accommodations in the Adirondacks and the Catskills is well deserved, and it will help further the momentum we are generating in the state's tourism industry."
"We want visitors to come to New York and experience all of what we have to offer. So pack your bags, book a room at one of our outstanding hotels and explore the Empire State," Cuomo said.
New York City was named one of the "Top 10 Cities in the United States."
To continue to boost tourism in New York State, Governor Cuomo has recently announced several new initiatives to help showcase the natural beauty of the state and recreational activities. The initiatives are also aimed at attracting more visitors to Upstate New York.
