5th flu death reported in Onondaga County

The Onondaga County Health Department reports a fifth person has died from the flu.

According to the Health Department, the victim was a middle-aged adult who was not vaccinated.

There have now been 8 deaths related to the flu in Central New York. Each victim was a middle-aged adult.

The first two deaths in Onondaga County were reported in mid-January. Two people have died from the flu in Madison County and one person died in Oswego County.

Health officials are still urging people to get the flu vaccine. The flu season typically runs until April or May.
