6-year-old injured, Syracuse Police looking for suspect in hit and run

A six-year-old child is in serious condition after a hit and run crash on the 900 block of Burnet Avenue.

Syracuse Police are looking for the car that hit the little girl and then took off. Police say the car is described as a light colored, possibly white, 4 door SUV-style vehicle. The vehicle could have damage to the front grill or driver-side headlight area.

The little girl was crossing the street when she was hit, according to police. After the girl was struck, a surveillace camera mounted on the wall of Hy Grade Metal Products captured video of the car turning off Burnet Avenue and onto Fairview Avenue. The video also shows several other cars whose drivers may have witnessed the escape along with a child running after the vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call Syracuse Police at 315-442-5151.
