A late-morning car crash has shut one lane of 81 southbound from the Syracuse city line down to the Hiawath Boulevard overpass near the Bear Street access (near Destiny).
Syracuse Police say about 11:15am, a car had hit a guard rail and then rolled onto its roof. The 28 year old man driving is being checked at Upstate University Hospital for minor injuries.
Another car, also driving southbound, was hit when the car that crashed apparently changed lanes. The second car also went into the guard rail on the road's right side. Police continue the investigation and no tickets have been issued.
DOT crews are deciding whether to repair the damage, or put barrels up at the crash scene. The right-hand lane of 81Ssouth remains closed.
