This video is a look inside the Cargill Cayuga Salt Mine in Lansing, just outside of Ithaca in Tompkins County, where miners are trapped in an elevator 900 feet down an access shaft.

The video is from 2006.

As of 8:17 a.m. Thursday, 15 of 17 salt miners have been rescued and are being checked by EMS.
