A traffic stop leads to recovery of over 200 bags of heroin and other drugs, deputies say

A traffic stop leads to the recovery of over 200 bags of heroin and other drugs deputies said.

According to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, deputies patrolling the 200 block of Rowland Street pulled over a vehicle after noticing several equipment violations.

The driver, Kalik McMillan, 22, fled on foot after stopping the vehicle, but was taken into custody a short distance away, deputies said.

Upon investigation, deputies found McMillan in possession of 207 bags of heroin, two grams of cocaine, seven oxycodone pills, two grams of marijuana and various narcotics equipment.

According to deputies, McMillan was charged with:

  • Two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree
  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the in the fourth degree
  • Three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree
  • Two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree

McMillan has also been issued traffic tickets for aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree and uninspected motor vehicle and window tint.

McMillan was arraigned Sunday morning and posted bail at $25,00 cash or $50,000 bond.
