Lauren Bacall, who started in many movies during Hollywood's Golden Age has died. Family member tells TMZ Bacall had a massive stroke Tuesday morning at her home in California. She was 89 years old.
Bacall starred with and married Humphrey Bogart. They appeared in "The Mirror Has Two Faces," "How to Marry a Millionaire" and "Designing Woman."
She married Bogart in 1945 and they were together until his death in 1957. Bacall married Jason Robards in 1961. They divorced in 1969. Bacall had 3 children.
Bacall was born Betty Joan Perske in the Bronx, New York, the only child of Natalie Weinstein-Bacal, a secretary who later legally changed her surname to Bacall, and William Perske, who worked in sales; both of her parents were Jewish. Her mother emigrated from Romania through Ellis Island, and her father was born in New Jersey, to Polish parents.
