After disastrous weekend, Oswego lawmakers vote to ban Bridge Street Run

The Oswego Common Council Monday evening voted unanimously to ban the annual Bridge Street Run bar crawl. Over this past weekend three SUNY Oswego students overdosed on heroin, one of them died. Also during the bar crawl event, a 22- year old man, from Suffern, Rockland County, was helicoptered to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with internal injuries and a 21-year old woman from Fairport (near Rochester) was treated for minor leg injuries after they were hit by a trolley.

The Bridge Street Run has been taking place on the last Friday before the start of the spring semester's final exam week for SUNY Oswego since the 1960's. We are working to contact the lawmakers who voted on the ban.
