Some of the stars of the History Channel's popular show "American Pickers" will be stopping by the 2013 New York State Fair to check your items for potential value.
You can bring your items to the Midway Music Series stage on Friday, August 30 at 7:30 p.m. They'll tell you whether they think it's "treasure or trash."
Frank Fritz, one of the antiques hunters traveling the county looking for items to restore, and Danielle Colby Cushman, will talk about their experiences on the show and take questions from the audience. They'll also sign autographs.
The main part of their appearance will be picking people from the audience to check out their items for any potential value. They won't tell you what the item is worth, or try to buy it from you. Instead they'll deliver a simple verdict of "treasure or trash."
Items brought to the Fairgrounds for possible consideration can't be larger than 2 feet by 2 feet. Weapons will not be allowed. Not everyone will be chosen for an on-stage review.
The 2013 New York State Fair runs from August 22 through September 2. This year's theme is "Sharing the Bounty and Pride of New York."
