'Angel' horse in Ithaca

This carousel horse has a connection with a young cancer victim, and artists who are refurbishing it in Ithaca have nicknamed it the Angel Horse

The horses on Ithaca's Stewart Park Carousel are being repainted, and the dapple gray is getting special treatment from artists, Christi Sobel and Julia John, with a reason.

The artists say the horse was the favorite of a little girl who was a frequent visitor to the carousel with her grandfather. She has now lost her fight with cancer, and the artists are calling this the Angel Horse.

The Ithaca/Tompkins Convention and Visitors Bureau ("Ithaca is Gorges") has posted the story on its Facebook page, and it has brought lots of other memories from people whove visited the carousel in the past.
