Congresswoman-elect Ann Marie buerkle has her new assignments in Washington.
Republican leaders chose Buerkle to sit on three different committees for the next Congress. Buerkle wanted a seat on the prized Appropriations Committee, but instead will sit on the committees on Oversight and Government Reform, Foreign Affairs, and Veterans affairs.
"I am so pleased by these committee assignments." Buerkle said. "Having the opportunity to serve on three committees provides me a greater ability to positively impact the 25th Congressional District and to interact with members across the House of Representatives. I look forward to getting to work on a variety of important issues impacting this nation."
Buerkle narrowly defeated incumbent Democrat Dan Maffei in the November election. She'll be sworn in on January 5th.
