Another record year for the Canine Carnival
Another record year for the Canine Carnival!
Onondaga County Parks estimated that 17,000-20,0000 people (not counting animals) stopped by the Canine Carnival at Jamesville Beach Park Saturday.
There was also a new record for the longest distance a rescue organization came to attend: North Carolina.
Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney got the event going at 10 am with the official welcome, then a Blessing of the Pets from a local Pastor, followed by demonstrations of dog agility and obedience by SOTC (Syracuse Obedience Training Club). The VIP Adoptable Dog Walk was at Noon.
There are so many to thank, from sponsors, to volunteers, to media, my great committee workers to the vendors and rescues themselves, and of course my family for their time and support. And a big thank you to all who took time to attend, I hope you had fun. Although I may be the "front" person for this great event, no one person could do this alone. "A Team Effort" of animal loving, caring people is what it takes.
Priscilla Mahar Animal Welfare Foundation looks forward to again making donations to the many hard working animal rescue and welfare organizations around CNY by yearâ??s end.
If any organization would like to get more involved in next yearâ??s Canine Carnival, please email me at email@example.com.
