ortland County Sheriffs are investigating an antique store robbery in the Village of Marathon.
Police describe the suspect as a white, middle-aged male, slender, build, approximately 6-feet tall, with dark brown hair, wearing a baseball cap, with short scruffy chin hair.
Police say the suspect had a conversation with an employee after entering the store, and minutes later, displayed a handgun and demanded jewelry from the case. The suspect placed the jewelry in a bagd and left the store. He drove off in what police call a light gray, full size, newer style extended cab, short box pick-up truck, and traveled south on Route 11.
The suspect took between $4,000 and $7,000 in jewelry. Nobody was injured.
