A Syracuse woman fought off a man who held her at gunpoint in an armed robbery overnight - now police are trying to track him down.
Syracuse Police say it happened overnight on Park Avenue, off of North Geddes Street.
According to the 38-year-old victim, just after 12:30 a.m., a man approached her after she parked in her driveway in the 500 block of Park Avenue.
She says he demanded money, and when she told him she had none, he showed a silver handgun, ordering her inside her home.
She told police she tried to give him a credit card, but he insisted on cash. She struggled with him to get the gun and pulled the trigger in hopes of making noise and signaling help.
When the gun did not fire, the man used the gun to hit her several times before grabbing her purse and running away.
The man is described as African American, in his early 20's, about 5'3", and of a small build. He was wearing dark clothing.
Anyone who may have been in the area and may have seen anything suspicious is asked to call Police at (315) 442-5222.
