Armed robbery under investigation in Syracuse, suspect arrested

Syracuse Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened Wednesday around 10:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Glenwood Avenue.

The victim is a 16-year-old boy who was walking home from Corcoran High School. Police say two suspects tried to steal his phone, then threatened him with a taser.

The phone fell to the ground during a struggle, and the rear cover fell off. The suspects stole the rear cover and ran away.

Police say the victim is familiar with one of the suspects. The suspect is identified as a 16-year-old boy, who was armed with the taser. He was arrested at his home for Robbery, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, and Menacing. The victim wasn't hurt during the robbery.
