Armory Square road works begins Monday

The City of Syracuse is planning road reconstruction in Armory Square that begins Monday, May 20.

The City says the project is the result of a major water main break in February, which caused streets in the area to flood and numerous businesses to close temporarily.

Beginning Monday, Franklin Street between Walton and Fayette Streets will be closed for construction. Parking will not be permitted on that stretch of Franklin during construction.

On Monday May 27, Franklin Street between Walton and Jefferson Streets will be closed. There will be no parking on the west curb of Franklin Street during construction.

The project is expected to be completed by June 3.
