The man who is suspected of attacking a New York State Trooper with a knife at the Empire State Plaza in Albany is in police custody, according to the New York State Police.
Troopers say that 18-year-old Eric Green was caught by State Police on Tuesday while walking near the intersection of Western and Washington Avenues in Albany. When first approached, State Police say that Green identified himself by another name before ultimately confirming who he was. He was then taken into custody without incident.
Green was sent to State Police Headquarters in Latham where he was processed. He was due to be arraigned on felony counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and robbery at 8 PM on Tuesday in Town of Colonie Court. According to State Police, additional charges may be filed after the arraignment.
The investigation is continuing. State Police officials ask anyone with information as to where Green has been since the March 3 stabbing to call them at 518-474-5330.
