As mother battles cancer, Hinman twins leave hospital

An update posted to the Facebook page dedicated to the progress of a Fort Drum family battling a medical crisis revealed some positive news Thursday evening. The twins, born prematurely to Jenna and Brandon Hinman, have been discharged.

Here is the post:

"Hello friends, Brandon has asked us to share some big news with you. Azlynn and Kinleigh have been discharged from the NICU! Both girls are settling in at Jenna's parents' house in their mommy's childhood bedroom turned nursery! Brandon continues to remain dedicated to his wife and baby girls and will now be splitting his time between staying with Jenna in the ICU at Crouse Hospital and caring for the girls at Jenna's parents house, which is 40 minutes away. Leaving Jenna for the girls and vice versa is incredibly difficult and emotionally taxing. We all anxiously yet patiently await the day that this new family is all together again - healthy and whole. Thank you for keeping the Hinman family in your thoughts and prayers as they enter this new, bittersweet phase of transition and adjustment!"

Jenna Hinman's story has captivated people around the world. She has been fighting a rare cancer that doctors found while performing an emergency C-section to deliver her twins and was in a medically induced coma for almost a month.
