Levon Wameling

The autopsy procedure on the remains of 9-month-old Levon Wameling revealed that the child had an approximate one-inch skull fracture, police announced Tuesday.

Police say the NYS Forensic Investigative Center positively identified the remains as Levon Wameling over the weekend and a Forensic Anthropology examination revealed the skull fracture.

Police say the case is now being forwarded to the Oneida County District Attorneyâ??s Office.

The childâ??s remains were found earlier this month in the Mohawk River. The child was reported missing on June 11, two weeks after his father, Jevon Wameling, claims the child went missing from his front porch in Utica.

Utica Police say the cause and manner of death are still pending. There have been no charges filed in connection with the child's death.

Jevon Wameling is currently in jail on unrelated conspiracy and burglary charges in two separate cases.
