Autumn, boxer-mix found severely emaciated last month, is ready to be adopted

Autumn, the boxer-mix found nearly 40 pounds underweight in Utica last month, is ready to be adopted.

The Stevens Swan Humane Society says it will start accepting applications Tuesday, as Autumn continues to recover.

Anyone who is interested in adopting Autumn can visit the shelter on Horatio Street in Utica to meet her, and fill out an application.

On its Facebook page, the shelter says it will review all applications and choose the home it feels is the best fit for Autumn.

Stevens Swan Humane Society thanks everyone who has supported the dog through her journey to recovery.

The three-year-old boxer-mix arrived at the shelter about a month ago, weighing just 22 pounds. She was found severely emaciated, with a shoelace tied around her neck.

Autumn has gained at least ten pounds since. She made her first public appearance at the Humane Society's "Howl-ween Celebration" on Saturday, October 12.
