Baldwinsville teen charged for possessing child porn

A Baldwinsville teen was charged for possessing child pornography, according to New York State Police.

Richard F. Curtis, 18, was arrested and charged on Thursday with three counts of Possession of a Sexual Performance by a Child, and one count of Promoting the Sexual Performance of a Child, State Police said.

An investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force - consisting of New York State Police, US Marshalls Service, and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations Division - found that Curtis possessed multiple images on his cell phone of a child under the age of 10, engaged in sexual conduct, troopers said.

Curtis had been a member of the Moyers Corners Fire Department since July 2016, and was suspended following the allegations, according to Moyers Corners Fire Chief Frank Crispin.

The Moyers Corners Fried Department is referring all questions to New York State Police, and are cooperating with authorities, Crispin said.

Curtis was arraigned in the Town of Clay Court, and sent to the Onondaga County Justice Center on $2,000 cash or bond, according to State Police.
