. Police took the teen into custody after they say he accidentally dropped the gun during Tuesday night's game.

An off-duty Utica police officer was at the girls modified basketball game when he heard something hit the hardwood floor and noticed the teenage boy pick up the handgun. The off-duty officer yelled to an on duty officer at the game and they chased him out of gym.
