Beach in Constantia reopens after health concerns

The beach at the David C. Webb Memorial Park in the Town of Constantia re-opened for swimming on Wednesday morning.

The beach has been closed for swimming since July 3 due to the presence of a blue-green algae bloom on Oneida Lake. Blue-green algae bloom can cause skin and eye irritation on contact and nausea and vomiting if swallowed.

The Oswego County Health Department says the blue-green algae has subsided and test results show the lake is now safe for swimming.
