A 39-year-old upstate New York man has been charged with second-degree murder in the killing of his estranged wife and another man.
Local media outlets report that Aaron Powell of the city of Binghamton was arraigned in Town of Binghamton Court Tuesday evening after being captured earlier in the day in Springville Township in Susquehanna County, Pa. He pleaded not guilty.
Police had been searching for Powell since Friday, when the bodies of 35-year-old Christina Powell and her friend, 24-year-old Mario Masciarelli, were found inside her town of Binghamton home. Authorities say Christina Powell had been strangled and Masciarelli was beaten to death.
Aaron Powell is being held without bail in the Broome County Jail.
Officials say police captured him at a convenience store about 30 miles south of Binghamton.
