Blowing snow and white-outs force temporary closure of Onondaga Lake Parkway

The Onondaga Lake Parkway has reopened after wind and blowing snow caused a closure for approximately two hours.

Late Monday morning, the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office and New York State Department of Transportation announced that the Onondaga Lake Parkway (State Route 370) was closed "due to high winds blowing snow that is making for white-out conditions." That closure has since been lifted as of approximately 12:45 p.m.

The Sheriff's Office cautions drivers to "use due care while driving" on the Parkway this afternoon.
