Officials have identified a body pulled from the Genesee River in Rochester earlier this week as that of a 28-year-old father of three who fell in while hiking with friends.
Rochester police tell local media that the Monroe County Medical Examiner's Office says Jacob Baxter drowned and his death was an accident.
Authorities say Baxter was walking with friends Monday afternoon when he fell into the river while trying to get near the top of the Lower Falls. His body was spotted downriver by fisherman two days later near Turning Point Park.
Relatives tell local media that Baxter worked as a youth minister in the city and was the father of three children, including a seven-week old son.
