Book Breaks 2014 summertime reading program is underway

Laura Hand at the Salina Free Library in Mattydale.

'Summer Slide' is the term that teachers use, to describe what happens to children when they put their brains on hold over school vacation. When they come back to the classroom in the fall, children have to re-learn what they've forgotten over the summer, and it takes a while to catch up.

The summer slide solution: keep children reading (even fun books). That's why we have partnered with the Onondaga County Public Library, to have our CNYCentral staffers read to children over the summer. We share the fun of reading, and answer their questions about our business.

Please come join us as we read at area libraries this summer (it's free). And check back here for pictures of the events!
