A local woman has been arrested after police say she stole more than $200,000 from her former employer.

According to Syracuse Police, 53-year-old Denise Greene of Hartwell Avenue in East Syracuse has been charged with one count each of second degree grand larceny, second degree forgery, and first degree falsifying business records " all felonies " after police say she stole a total of approximately $210,000 from Examgen, Inc. from December 21, 2007 to December 4, 2009. Police say that while Greene worked as an office manager and bookkeeper for Examgen she made multiple unauthorized charges to a corporate credit card account that she had opened, and then paid down the credit balance using funds from Examgen TMs checking, line of credit, and money market accounts.

Police say that Greene would then provide records to Examgen TMs CEO saying that the account balances were intact. Greene TMs arrest came after Examgen filed a fraud complaint against her, which was then investigated by the police department TMs Forgery and Financial Crimes section.

Greene was arraigned in Syracuse City Court Wednesday morning and pleaded not guilty to the charges against her. Bail was set at $3,500 cash or $7,500 bond. She is scheduled to return to court on April 5 for a preliminary hearing.
