Bowdoin bus crashes into Canale's, SUNY Oswego NCAA hockey game postponed

The charter carrying Bowdoin men's hockey slid into Canale's Restaurant on Wednesday.

Bowdoin College officials say no one was aboard the men's hockey team bus when it slid down a hill during Wednesday's blizzard and hit a central New York restaurant.

Nick Canale says the bus driver was having lunch inside his Italian restaurant in Oswego Wednesday afternoon when the parked vehicle slid downhill and hit the side of the building.

No one was injured.

Canale says the impact damaged the building's awning, rails and steps.

It's not known what caused the charter bus to move. Officials at the college in Brunswick, Maine say the bus slid down the hill "due to ice."

The Oswego State men's hockey game against Bowdoin has been postponed until Thursday. The first round Division III NCAA tournament game will now start at 3:00 p.m. in Campus Center Ice Arena on Thursday.

SUNY Oswego shut down campus on Wednesday as well.
