Police identify 8-year-old boy from Rome who was struck, killed by truck in New Hartford

New Hartford police have identified the 8-year-old boy from Rome who was struck and killed by a truck in New Hartford.

Officers say Logan Lints died on Sunday after being hit by a truck that was backing out of a parking space in Sangertown Square Mall. It happened just before 2:00 p.m. in the Target parking lot of the mall.

Police say the child was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The driver of the truck is said to be a 19-year-old from Utica. No tickets have been issued at this time.
