Boyfriend enters not guilty plea in Moravia woman's death

      Arthur Basso

The boyfriend of a Moravia woman found dead on the side of the road in Dryden pled not guilty to leaving the scene of a personal injury incident.

Arthur Basso was arraigned in Dryden Town Court on Monday morning. Basso's girlfriend, Crystal Grobelny, was found in a field off West Dryden Road by a passing motorist on November 10. Police do not believe Grobelny was struck by a car.

Basso's bail was reduced from $20,000 cash or $40,000 bond to $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond. Basso made bail and is being represented by attorney James Baker. The case is now on the six-month felony indictment calendar.

Investigators are still trying to determine why Grobelny left the car. They are not sure if more charges will be filed in the future.
