Several new developments as of 8:15 p.m. from Ithaca:
*The owner of Simeon's Restaurant confirms the person who was killed today was a bartender in her 20's. The owner says she had a very young child.
*Crews are working on taking apart the builiidng where a tractor trailer carrying cars slammed into it today.
*Authorities are giving out masks to people who live near the area because dust and debris is in the air.

One person is dead after a tractor trailer with two decks of cars crashed into an Ithaca restaurant. Four people have been taken to the hospital. We have learned the driver of the tractor trailer has been taken into police custody for questioning. The 100 block of Aurora Street and the 200 block of State Street have been evacuated.
City engineers are currently evaluating the building, which does include some apartments, to determine if the entire building needs to be evacuated.
Mental health counselors are also on the scene.
Residents in Ithaca are being warned to avoid the area around Simeon??s Restaurant, on the Ithaca Commons, as the area will be closed to traffic.
Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick tells CNY Central that 4 people were taken to the hospital. He recommends avoiding that area for the next 12 hours as it is completely closed down for emergency personnel to work.
