A local hotel manager and her boyfriend are under arrest after police say they stole tens of thousands of dollars from the business she ran.
According to the Onondaga County Sheriff TMs Office, detectives spent two weeks investigating the case of alleged thefts at the Days Inn on Bartel Road in Brewerton. Deputies say 39-year-old Cathaline Aylmer of Glendale Place in Utica is accused of stealing more than $40,000 in cash, property, and fraudulent credit card charges from the hotel between June and November of 2010. Aylmer was the general manager of the hotel at the time, though police say she no longer works there.
Aylmer is charged with felony third degree grand larceny and felony first degree falsifying business records. She was arraigned in Cicero Town Court and ordered held in jail without bail.
Police also say Aylmer TMs boyfriend, 33-year-old Brett M. Howard, is also accused of stealing property from the hotel. He is charged with felony third degree grand larceny and was released on the pre-trial release program.
