Bridge construction on Route 174 bridge in Camillus begins Monday

Construction on the bridge carrying Route 174 over Nine Mile Creek in the town of Camillus will begin on Monday, July 15.

The New York State Department of Transportation says traffic will be allowed to cross the bridge during construction with alternating one-way traffic controlled by signals on both ends of the bridge.

The bridge is located just north of the border between the towns of Camillus and Marcellus and carries 4,800 vehicles a day, according to the DOT.

The DOT says delays should be minimal.

The project is expected to be completed by mid-October.
