Bristol-Myers Squibb to relocate research jobs

Bristol-Myers Squibb says it is consolidating its research and development efforts from three locations into two, eliminating the Syracuse location.

The company currently employs a little more than 100 employees in the research and development branch of the Syracuse office. The company says most of those employees will be given the chance to transfer to the other branches, in Mount Vernon, Indiana or New Brunswick, New Jersey. The company does not know exactly how many employees will be able to transfer.

The move will not happen until the end of 2010. Bristol-Myers Squibb currently employes 650 people in its Syracuse location.
