Monday afternoon Syracuse Police caught a burglar as he was running away from the scene of the crime.
Just before 1:00 p.m. Monday afternoon, the Syracuse Police Department received a call about a burglary in progress on the 1900 block of Lodi Street. When officers arrived, they were told a male suspect had been seen running away from a backyard with a table saw.
Police say an officer saw a man with a table saw walking near the intersection of Lodi Street at Isabella Street. The officer stopped the man, who was identified as 20 year old, Luis Dejesus of 1303 Lodi Street.
Police determined Dejesus had forced his way into a locked shed and stole the saw.
Dejesus is charged with burglary, criminal possession of stolen property, and more.
He's scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Syracuse City Criminal Court.
