Butter sculpture unveiled for 2013 State Fair

It is one of the most highly-anticipated events of the New York State Fair - the unveiling of the butter sculpture.

This yearâ??s sculpture features New York State icons, such as the Statue of Liberty, which is in line with the State Fairâ??s theme of "Sharing the Bounty and Pride of NY."

For more than 40 years, the butter sculpture has been a big attraction at the Dairy Products building. Past sculptures have featured Santa Claus, Family Milkman, the Pride of New York, Feeding our Future, and a small farming community.

Last year's butter sculpture was a tribute to Greek Yogurt featured in the setting of the Olympics. It highlighted the increased production of Greek-style yogurt over the past decade, which has created a major market for New York's dairy farmers.
