Camden man killed in industrial accident at DeWitt lumber yard
Mon, 07 Feb 2011 14:35:05 GMT — DeWitt police have identified the man killed at a lumber yard early this morning. Thomas Pelton, 35, of Camden, was found dead around 5:30 a.m. Police were called to B&B Lumber at 4800 Solvay Road in DeWitt for a report of an industrial accident involving an employee. When they got there, they found Pelton dead. Police say they were told Pelton was working on a piece of equipment when it was started by another employee who didn't realize he had started the machine and was unable to turn it off before Pelton was killed. There were no other employees in the area at the time. Federal investigators with OSHA are now investigating along with the district attorney's office.
The death remains under investigation.

Police aren't releasing many more details other than one person was killed and no one else was injured.
The name of the victim is not being released until police can notify their family.
Police say the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is helping in the investigation.
