      Canine Carnival 2013

The 4th Annual Canine Carnival presented by Wegmans is now New York State's largest animal rescue event.

Last year we had 68 total rescues and vendors. This year we will have more than 100, with some coming from as far away as Philadelphia.

Canine Carnival 2013 is on the way Saturday August 3rd 10:00am ?? 3:00pm at Long Branch Park in Liverpool. Admission is free! The event runs rain or shine. Last year more than 8,000 people attended, not letting the 97 degree record heat stop them from a day of fun with animals.

There will be music, food, animal demonstrations, a Red Cross Blood Drive, dog grooming and washing, a live broadcast by SUNNY 102 radio, Sports Zone with the Syracuse Crunch, Chiefs, Silver Knights and OZ Roller Girls, a silent auction and raffles. And of course there will be the Adoptable Dog Parade, dogs looking for homes walked around by CNY celebrities.

Bring your dog, but please keep your dog on a fixed, short leash for the safety of everyone. If you need to borrow a leash, no problem! We have them. See animals of all types looking for homes from dogs to cat, reptiles to horses and guinea pigs. They??re all here!

NOTE: We have a couple of spots left for last minute rescues or vendors.

Email me at wmahar@cnycentral.com if you're interested.

Proceeds from the Canine Carnival go to the Priscilla Mahar Animal Welfare Foundation (a non-profit organization donating money to central NY animal rescues and welfares). To date, PMAWF has donated nearly $40,000 to animal welfares and rescues in central NY.

Big thanks to our presenting sponsor, Wegmans, and our other great sponsors Liverpool Village Animal Hospital, Veterinary Medical Center of CNY, C & S Companies and CNYcentral.
