A Syracuse man is facing multiple charges this morning after crashing his car into a local church.
Onondaga County Sheriff's deputies say 24-year-old Florindo Pascarella was driving northbound on Hamilton Road shortly before 5 a.m. when he drove off the road, crashing into Bellewood Baptist Church on Church Street. A witness was able to pull Pascarella from his car before it caught on fire. Those flames spread to the church, causing considerable damage, although firefighters on scene say repairs can be made.

He's facing a number of charges, including having a suspended license, operating a vehicle with a suspended registration, having no insurance and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
The are also power outages in the area due to the fire. National Grid is on scene working on the problem.
