Man crashes car into pole after suffering from gunshot wound.

A man who crashed a car at the corner of Gifford Street and South Geddes Street, was suffering from a gunshot wound, according to Syracuse Police.

Police responded to the 600 block of South Geddes Street around 7:20 p.m. for reports of shots fired.

Upon arrival, police located a car that had struck a pole in the area.

The victim was transported to Upstate University Hospital and is currently listed in critical condition, police said.

Our crew on the scene told us that crime scene tape and a police car have blocked off South Geddes Street, from Gifford street towards Seymour and Shonnard Streets.

Detectives and Syracuse Police are currently at the scene and they say the investigation is in the early stages.

At this time, there is no suspect description available.
